Foot & Ankle Pain
Foot & Ankle Pain Physiotherapy in Science City, Ahmedabad
Still hurting every time you take a step? Here is what is actually going on.
Foot and ankle pain affects everything — because every time you stand, walk, or move, that small area carries your entire body weight. For desk professionals, even the walk to the car or climbing a flight of stairs becomes something you think twice about. That sharp first step out of bed can feel like the worst part of your day.
For runners, gym-goers, and athletes, the frustration is different — managing activity around the pain, scaling back training, or pushing through and paying for it the next day.
At MoveSync, we look beyond the symptoms to find the mechanical driver of your pain. MoveSync is led by Dr. Mansi Shah, MPT (Orthopaedics & Sports), with 14+ years of experience in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy — ensuring every patient receives the same standard of care

Signs You May Benefit From Treatment
You do not need a formal diagnosis to reach out. If you recognise any of these, a physiotherapy assessment can give you clarity.
- Sharp or aching pain in the heel or arch — especially that first step out of bed in the morning
- Pain or stiffness that eases after walking a few minutes but returns after sitting or rest
- Swelling or instability that makes the ankle feel unreliable on uneven ground
- Pain that flares during or after running, walking, or gym sessions
- Difficulty bearing weight, walking normally, or standing for long periods
- Mechanical Issues: Flat feet, hyperpronation, and stiff ankle joints
- A catching or locking sensation in the ankle or foot joint
Why Foot & Ankle Pain Rarely Resolves With Just Rest
Most people manage foot and ankle pain with rest, painkillers, or new shoes — and feel some temporary relief. But the pain keeps returning because the underlying mechanics are never addressed.
Your foot is the foundation of your entire kinetic chain. A stiff ankle or a collapsed arch changes how load is distributed through your knees, hips, and spine with every single step. There is also significant misinformation around footwear and insole selection — the wrong support can actually maintain the problem even when everything else is being treated correctly.
The only way to stop the cycle is a hands-on assessment of how you move from the ground up.
Our approach
We do not progress you just because a few weeks have passed. We progress you when your knee shows the right signs better strength, better control, better movement quality, and better tolerance to load.
That is what criteria-based ACL rehab means. It protects the graft, reduces false confidence, and gives you a clearer path back to activity and sport.
Why most ACL recoveries feel incomplete
A lot of people expect the surgery to be the hard part. In reality, surgery is only the beginning. The real work is rebuilding quadriceps strength, restoring control, improving single-leg loading, and preparing the knee for the demands of real life and sport.
That is why a knee can feel “better” but still not feel ready. Pain may settle and walking may improve, yet strength deficits, poor landing mechanics, hesitation, and side-to-side asymmetry can still remain.
How MoveSync Treats Foot & Ankle Pain
Treatment at MoveSync follows a structured process — from root cause assessment through to strength and prevention.
Your physiotherapist will assess how you move, identify what is contributing to your pain, and build a plan around your goals — whether that is walking without discomfort, returning to running, or getting back to full training.
Reduce pain and irritation
Joint mobilisation and soft tissue work to calm inflammation and restore basic comfort. Dry needling is used where trigger points in the foot, calf, or lower leg are maintaining the pain cycle.
Restore movement
IASTM and targeted mobility work to address stiffness in the ankle joint and plantar fascia. Where relevant, restrictions at the knee, hip, or lower back that are overloading the foot are addressed as part of the same plan.
Build support and stability
Progressive exercises for the foot, ankle, and the full kinetic chain — from the ankle through to the hip and core. Kinesio taping is used where proprioceptive support is needed during return to activity.
Prevent recurrence
Specific guidance on load management and footwear or insole selection based on your foot type and activity — addressing the root driver, not just the symptom.
Treatment may include joint mobilisation, dry needling, IASTM, kinesio taping, kinetic chain exercises, and progressive loading — structured around your symptoms, activity level, and recovery goals.
What Happens at Your First Session
Your first session is 45–60 minutes. A full history is taken — when the pain started, what aggravates it, and how it is affecting your daily life and training.
Your physiotherapist will then assess how you walk, how your foot and ankle move, and where restrictions or weaknesses exist — including further up the chain if needed. You will leave with a clear clinical explanation of your pain and a realistic roadmap for recovery.
There is no pressure to commit to a course of sessions at your first visit — just honest, expert clarity on where you stand and what your options are.

Why Patients Choose MoveSync
What sets MoveSync apart for foot and ankle conditions is the approach to assessment. Most treatment focuses on the painful area alone — but foot and ankle pain is rarely just a local problem. The MoveSync team is trained to assess the full kinetic chain, understanding how the knee, hip, and spine are contributing to what you feel at ground level. Combined with specific, evidence-based guidance on footwear and load management, this is what makes the difference between short-term relief and lasting recovery.
- Foot and ankle assessment that includes the knee, hip, and lower back — not just the symptomatic area
- Specific guidance on footwear, insole selection, and load management based on your foot type and sport
- Treatment covers both acute injuries and long-standing chronic conditions
- Hands-on care combined with a structured rehab programme
